A drain gully outside your home can block up because of leaves, debris or waste from your kitchen sink. This means your kitchen sink drains slowly or doesn't drain at all.

Step by step: clean your sink gully
Protect yourself
Put on a pair of rubber gloves to protect your hands. You might want to wear safety glasses too.
Lift and clean the gully cover
Use a screwdriver to remove the gully grid from the gully and clean off any leaves or kitchen waste.
Clean out the gully
Remove any obstructions you find by hand, or use a plunger if it's blocked.
If it's broken, replace the gully grid with a new one. You can get them from any local DIY store; plastic ones are usually cheaper.
